With Jose Sainz & Scott Skinner

$50 per child/adult pair ($25 for each extra student).

Have fun with your family and make a kite together!  Adults and kids will create a small three stick flying kite made out of bamboo sticks covered with natural fiber light weight paper in the color and texture of their liking. Several sample shapes will be provided. However, you will be encouraged to get creative and make your own shape and designs using only three sticks. When students are finished , they can take their kites outside to fly.  Jose Sainz has  been making, flying, and teaching about kites since 1989. Over the years he has attended, displayed, and taught about  kites at numerous National and International kite festivals around the world. Jose has been a long time member of the Kite Art Committee for the AKA and was recently named to the Board of the directors for the Drachen Foundation in Seattle, WA. Founder of the Drachen Foundation, Scott Skinner has been active in kite making for over 25 years. He is a frequent lecturer, writer, and workshop leader. He has amassed collections of kites, kite ephemera, European kite prints and Japanese ukiyo-e.
