Explore the many methods of printmaking in this class with David Bradway.  This workshop will focus on the less toxic, low-tech, approaches to relief, etching, monotype, and lithography.  Students learn how to make their own etched plates with electrolysis etching, and then combining them with the painterly, multi layered techniques of monotype. Learn about the tonal variations and mark-making techniques in the art of etching, and foolproof registration techniques to produce multiple drop images and techniques for layering inks to create textural, saturated color layers. The application of different grounds on intaglio and chine collé will also be covered.  Make your own relief plates with by carving into linoleum, and experiment with the gestural freedom of hand drawn litho plates.  This class will be an introduction to these four printmaking practices, opening the possibilities of printmaking for anyone!
