“Seeing Light” is the essence of taking a good photograph. Without light, there is only a black image. Composing the image within the camera frame is also critical; it’s the vision of the artist. In this class, we will learn the different types of light and how to work with both ambient (natural/available) light, as well as directed (intentional) light. We will address front, back, side, reflected, diffused and spot lighting. In learning how to compose a great photo, we will study the aspect ratio (Rule of Thirds), leading lines, backgrounds, color and motion. Each class will begin with a short discussion outlining our goals, followed by close personal hands-on instruction in the field and wrapping up with daily discoveries!
