Join Ty Cummings for a contemporary look at three exciting and influential movements in painting: Cubism and its interest in time, bold color, shapes, and perspectives; Impressionism and its interest in light, bright colors, and perception, and finally Surrealism and its symbolism, dream-analysis, use of realism to enhance dream-like scenes. Students will create self-portraits, landscapes, dreamscapes, and still-life paintings utilizing different styles and approaches, all the while examining the work of Modern Masters. Painting, drawing, and collage will be utilized. All levels of experience are welcome and encouraged.
