Portrait Drawing & Oil Painting

Sandy Freckleton Gagon will be teaching a two day portrait painting workshop. She will begin with a drawing, which will cover concepts such as the block-in and basic construction to address proportional issues with the portrait. She will also be introducing the basic ideas of modeling through the concept of form. The resulting drawing will then be transferred to linen canvas for painting. In the painting process participants will apply their understanding of values as it relates to the forms on the portrait. We will work on a limited palette at the individual's comfort level. The primary mode of teaching will be done by direct interaction between the instructor and each individual participant.
