Working in the student's choice of paint medium (oil, acrylic, or watercolor), Annette will teach students how to successfully paint a pet portrait. Students will learn how to break down the figure of a pet or animal into basic shapes to help take the fear of inaccurately depicting the subject. Using photographic references, learn how to simplify the subject's form, which is a valuable skill in drawing/painting and can be applied to still lifes and the human figure. Students will learn portrait and painting techniques to capture the likeness of animals, and become more comfortable with their favored paint medium, discovering new skills in painting and drawing. Students should come to class with photographic references of the pet or animal they would like to paint. Teens 14+ are welcome to enroll.
