Beginning with the basics of landscape, students will then expand upon what they see. Stretching the imagination, students will deconstruct the natural surroundings they observe in reality. From cityscapes to mountain ranges, students will play with combining horizon lines to make a new, imagined landscape. Students will also examine images “under a microscope”, taking an object from nature (feather, stick, rock, leaf etc.), and taking a closer look to focus on the amazing details of the natural world. Perhaps try to draw the world upside down to challenge the mind and train the eyes to see the new shapes that form.  We will challenge the norm and experiment with new perspectives.
