Monster Drawing Rally is a partnership event produced by the Arts Council of Park City & Summit County and Kimball Art Center, with proceeds benefiting both nonprofit organizations. The live art-making event allows spectators to spy on the creative process, build relationships with local artists, and grow their art collections.
This year’s Monster Draw is June 11 from 3-6pm outdoors at Kimball Art Center, 1251 Kearns BLVD, and includes a DJ, light bites and a cash bar.
Here’s how it works: Over the course of the afternoon, artists will sign up for one or two shifts to create artwork LIVE for 50 minutes — artwork being created will include graphite drawings, pen and ink drawings, charcoal, paintings, digital art, collage, and more. Finished pieces are immediately available for purchase when the 50-minute timer runs out.
All pieces are sold for $50. Any piece with more than one hopeful owner will be decided by a random card draw. The Monster Drawing Rally is a great opportunity to collect local artwork and build connections with local creative talent.
In addition to the Monster Drawing Rally, attendees can enjoy More Than a Thousand Words on display at Kimball Art Center with work by ten renowned and newly emerging artists who have practiced at Oaklands’s Creative Growth Art Center, a leader in the field of arts and the disabilities.
