Monster Drawing Rally is a partnership fundraising event for the Arts Council of Park City & Summit County and Kimball Art Center, with proceeds benefiting both nonprofits.
The live art-making event allows spectators to spy on the creative process, build relationships with local artists, and grow their art collections. This year's Monster Draw will take place July 10 from 2-6pm. The event will be held outdoors at Kimball Art Center's new home at the YARD, 1251 Kearns BLVD, and includes live music food, and a cash bar. In addition to the Monster Drawing Rally, Kimball Art Center will have the Wasatch Back Student Art Show and work from Adrian Esparza and Marie Watt on display.
Here's how it works: Over the course of the afternoon, artists will sign up for one or two shifts to create artwork LIVE for 50 minutes — artwork being created will include graphite drawings, pen and ink drawings, charcoal, paintings, digital art, collage, and more. Finished pieces are immediately available for purchase when the 50-minute timer runs out. All pieces are sold for $50, and any piece with more than one hopeful owner will be decided by a random card draw. It's a great opportunity for our community to collect local artwork and build connections with our local creative talent.
Tickets are available beginning June 10, 2021 at kimballartcenter.org and pcscarts.org.
There is plenty of parking in the lot off Homestake Rd.
The event will follow all COVID-19 related health guidelines set by Summit County, and both organizations are working closely to align with their protocols and ensure the safety of artists and patrons.
