Intro to Sumi-e East Asian Brush Painting

This two day sumi-e workshop is an introduction to the fascinating art of East Asian brush painting. Experience for yourself the elegance of black brushstrokes across white paper. Even if you are a more advanced student or artist, you'll learn new brushstrokes to add to your repertoire; learn techniques that have been handed down for generations. There will be hands on demonstrations with one on one instruction and plenty of time to paint! Karen's 30 years of experience as a sumi-e artist lends itself to an adventure in painting. If you are a returning student and already have a sumi-e kit from Karen, the materials fee is lowered to $20 for ink and paper.
