Intro to Encaustic Painting

$300 + $50 materials fee.
This workshop is designed to be an introduction to Encaustic painting. This 2 day course will cover discussions and demonstration of the encaustic method including safety measures, supports and grounds, transfer and layering techniques, line and edge techniques, photo transfer techniques and combinations of oil paint with encaustic. Individual work time will be scheduled throughout the days between discussions and demonstrations to give participants an opportunity to try each of these techniques and produce one or more small paintings. Several paintings will be completed during this workshop time.
